KANATA, Ont. – A man, 18, has been charged with several sexual assault offences after a violent sexual assault in Kanata.

Ottawa Police responded to cries for help in the Bridlewood neighbourhood of Kanata late Saturday night.

When they arrived in the area of Windways Cres., officers found a woman, 18, with injuries to her head and chest after being sexually assaulted.

The suspect, Abdiaziz Yusef Ali, 18, surrendered when police located him at a nearby home.

Further investigation revealed the accused also sexually assaulted a girl, 17, earlier that evening.

Neither victim knew the accused and had only met him that night at a party.

Ali faces multiple charges including Sexual Assault, Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm, two counts of Forcible Confinement, three counts of Breach of Probation Order and Utter a Death Threat.

He will remain in custody until his court appearance on Thursday.
