OTTAWA, Ont. – The suspect in the death of Fouad Nayel has been charged with first-degree murder in the case.

Ottawa’s Adam Picard, 29, made his first court appearance Thursday morning.

Officers with Ottawa Police and Ontario Provincial Police arrested Picard Wednesday morning after searching two separate Ottawa locations.

Fouad Nayel had been reported missing on June 18.  The day before he had told his family he was going to Petawawa for a few hours but would be back with Chinese food to celebrate Father’s Day.

His badly decomposed body was discovered on November 11 in a remote wooded area near Calabogie, more than four months after his June disappearance.
