DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. – A mother charged in the drowning deaths of her three children east of Montreal is pregnant with a fourth child.

Sonia Blanchette, 33, is in the early stages of pregnancy; just weeks after her three young children were found dead in her Drummondville home.

According to The Sun, police believe the father of her unborn child is not likely the same man who fathered the previous three.  They say because Blanchette is facing three counts of first degree murder it’s unlikely she would be able to raise the child.

Child protection services is aware of her pregnancy and will likely place the newborn in foster care if relatives aren’t up to the task.
