OTTAWA – Ottawa police say charges are pending in a crash that sent a snowmobiler, 16, to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the teen was struck by a vehicle around 10 p.m. near 8th Line Road in Metcalfe. They say the driver fled the scene but was located a short time later.

Paramedics say the boy suffered injuries to his head, torso and lower extremities.

Bystanders say the impact threw him a considerable distance.
