GATINEAU – Police in Gatineau were involved in a high speed chase early Wednesday morning.

Officers tried to pull over a car around 3:40 a.m. on Eardely Street in Aylmer, but the driver refused to stop.

In the end, spike belts had to be used to slow the car down before it finally came to rest at St. Joseph and Allumettières Boulevards in Gatineau.

Two men, both in their 20′s, fled the vehicle and were quickly captured by police. The vehicle had been reported stolen.

There were no injuries and charges are yet to be determined.
