Carleton University security staff, teaching assistants set to strike

OTTAWA – Security staff, teaching assistants and contract instructors at Carleton University could be off the job as of midnight Sunday.

Fifty security workers, which includes special constables and safety officers who are represented by OP-SEU Local 404, are seeking higher pay.

The 2,500 teaching staff and assistants represented by CUPE 4600 are also seeking higher pay, more job security and better benefits.

Both groups will be in a legal strike position at 12:01 a.m. Monday.
