The government is providing $6.5 million in funding — $5.25 million for Arts Court redevelopment and $1.5m for specialized equipment for the art gallery.

“A vibrant and thriving arts and culture scene stimulates our city’s economic growth, and makes Ottawa an attractive destination for tourism, business and talented professionals,” said Mayor Jim Watson.
Ottawa Arts Court is located in the historic 1870 Carleton County Courthouse. The new Ottawa Art Gallery will expand to 31,000 square feet from its current 10,000, and will include several galleries and a new screening room.
