OTTAWA – The time has come to say goodbye to winter — astronomically at least.
Astronomical spring arrived at 6:29 a.m. Monday, with a very spring-like forecast calling for sun, cloud and high of 5C.
However, there will still be some back-and-forth this week, with a forecast high of only minus 7 C for Wednesday.
“Winter will still definitely try to battle it out with spring,” says 1310 NEWS meteorologist Jill Taylor. “It will be on the mild side today and tomorrow, well above average, but then a big change for Wednesday.”
By April, the forecast looks to be more seasonal. “At this point, it is looking like April will be above average,” Jill says. “That’s welcome news, considering the cold temperatures we’ve had in March.
