OTTAWA – Police have charged an Ottawa man with child porn offences following an investigation that began in Barrie, Ontario last spring.

In May 2016, an officer with Barrie police ICE Unit was conducting an investigation on a Peer to Peer network when an IP address sharing files of prepubescent children being sexually abused was found.

It was believed the IP address was out of the Barrie area, but further investigation revealed it was based in Ottawa.

Ottawa police were then contacted and a search warrant was executed on Heatherington Road Wednesday.

Police seized digital devices that will be forensically analyzed.

Marc St-Germain, 55, faces one count of making child porn available and three counts of possession of child porn.

He is due in court Thursday.
