OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Robbery Unit is investigating a home invasion in Kanata, and is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects.
On September 11, at approximately 10:50 am, two men went to a home along the 100 block of Westover Crescent.
They were dressed in construction-style clothing and rang the doorbell at the home. When the lone female occupant opened the door, the two men forced their way in.
They were armed with handguns, and while one suspect controlled the victim, the second searched the premises.
They left with a few of the woman’s handbags.
The victim was not hurt.
Police say it’s unclear if the residence was specifically targeted.
The suspects walked away in a northbound direction, and may have had a vehicle parked nearby.
They had a large black duffel bag — possibly Adidas brand — with a “UCLA” marking and yellow stripes. Investigators would like to identify local retailers that carry this specific item.
The clothing appeared new and unmarked, and may have been recently purchased at a local retailer.
Police would like to speak to any retailer that might recognize these suspects, or anyone in the area who saw the suspects.
