OTTAWA–Investigators with the Ottawa Police Robbery Unit are looking for your help to identify people involved in a swarming and robbery last month near the Rideau Centre.

Two girls walked into a fast-food restuarant on Rideau Street, Friday September 8, around 7:30 p.m.

The girls encountered a large group of boys and girls, approximately 11 people in all, police said.

The duo left the restaurant, but were followed outside where a confrontation escalated and the girls were assaulted.

One of the girls had her handbag taken in the attack.

Police have released a series of surveillance video photos in the hopes someone may recognize some of the suspects.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery, or any other robbery, is asked to call the Ottawa Police’s Robbery Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
