Charges laid after stabbing downtown sends man to hospital

OTTAWA — Charges have been laid after a stabbing in downtown Ottawa.

Police were called around 8:00 Tuesday night to an altercation involving two males at the corner of St. Patrick Street and King Edward Avenue.

One of the males was stabbed during the fight.

He was found on Murray Street and taken to hospital with serious, non life-threatening injuries.

A suspect was arrested and a weapon was recovered.

Shawn Satterly, 27, is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon dangerous, breach of recognizance x 4 and possession of a schedule 1 substance x 2.
