Police release photos of suspect in multiple bank robberies

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a series of recent bank robberies, and is seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect.

Police say six robberies are part of this investigation:

Monday, November 6, 2017 at 2:05 pm – 1400 block of Carling Avenue
Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 9:00 am – 2700 block of Alta Vista Drive
Friday, November 10, 2017 at 6:30 pm – 1600 block of Montreal Road
Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 12:15 pm – 1600 block of Montreal Road
Friday, November 17, 2017 at 12:55 pm – 1500 block of Bank Street
Friday, November 17, 2017 at 3:45 pm – 4300 block of Innes Road

In each robbery, a lone male entered the bank and made a verbal demand for cash. The suspect has been making very deliberate efforts to conceal his identity.

During the second robbery on November 17, the suspect displayed a knife. In five of the six robberies, he fled with undisclosed quantities of cash. The suspect may have had a vehicle, and possibly a driver, waiting at each robbery.

The suspect is described as:

-Caucasian male
-approximately 5’8″ – 5’10” tall (173 cm – 178 cm)
-approximately mid-twenties
-fair complexion
-light coloured facial hair — possibly reddish
