LEEDS — The OPP have charged an Ottawa area woman with driving too slowly on the 401.
Leeds County OPP received several calls Wednesday night about a driver going 40 km/hr on the 401 in front of Yonge Township.
The vehicle was in the fast lane, with the high beams on.
Police found the vehicle and made several attempts to get the driver to pull safely onto the right shoulder. After some precarious attempts, officers had to make a tandem stop — with a cruiser in the front and rear of the vehicle — to safely assist movement off the highway.
The driver said she believed the speed limit to be 50 kilometers per hour.
A 47-year-old woman from the Ottawa area was issued provincial offence notices for Unnecessarily Slow Driving, Failing to Obey Signs, and Failing to Surrender An Insurance Card.
