Charges laid in weekend shooting incident

OTTAWA – Four people have been charged in connection to a shooting downtown over the weekend.

Just before 10 p.m. Sunday, patrol officers responded to reports of shots fired at a home in the 100 block of Nelson Street

According to police, the vehicle and a suspect were known to the complainant. Then around 12:45 a.m. Monday, officers spotted the suspect vehicle on the Vanier Parkway.

Seven people were arrested and two pellet guns and knives were located and seized.

Four people from Ottawa are facing charges:

Dakota Albert, 19, and Alexandre Gauvin, 18, face charges including, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon and mischief.

Lorne-David Easton, 19, faces charges including, assault with a weapon, assault, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon.

A 17-year-old female young offender faces charges including careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon and assault.

The four people charged have been released on promises to appear in court.
