OTTAWA — Embattled rock band group Hedley will take to the stage tonight in Ottawa, pushing ahead with its tour despite sexual misconduct allegations.
The Vancouver pop-rockers were dropped by their management team and blacklisted by scores of radio stations, last week, in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations on social media.
Hedley has removed itself from consideration for any JUNO awards this year, but the band is continuing with its cross-country “Cageless” tour. The band is scheduled to play TD Place Area tonight, before playing Laval and Atlantic Canada.
“The easy thing to do would be to cancel the tour and hide. We don’t intend to do that,” the band said in a written statement. “We intend to start making positive changes, starting right now.”
The statement also says the members intend to be and do better in their lives.
The “Cageless” tour is scheduled to wrap up March 23.
