OTTAWA–Ottawa Police have issued a warrant for a city man in what is now a murder investigation, after the victim in a 2017 assault in Vanier died of his injuries.

On July 18, 2017, Gerald Leduc, 53, was assaulted on Selkirk Street in Vanier.

Leduc had been in a coma for six months: He died last month, police say.

The matter is now a homicide investigation and police are looking for Marco Michaud, 36, on a Second Degree Murder charge.

Michaud is white, 5′ 4″, 141lbs, with several tattoos.

He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached, say police.
