Candlelight vigils against a possible war on Syria are planned for Saturday across the world, including in Ottawa.
The vigil will take place at the Human Rights Monument at Elgin Street and Lisgar.
Solidarity Syria, the Syrian Canadian Club, Syrian League of Canada, and anti-war activists are among the groups attending.
Pope Francis asked Christians to make Saturday a day of fasting and to hold vigils for peace in Syria and the Middle East.
The Ottawa Peace assembly says in a release, “outside interference and war are not the answers to the tragic events unfolding in Syria.”
