OTTAWA – An Ottawa family is suing the Toronto Police Service over the investigation into the death of their son.
John and Gloria Connelly have spent the last 15 years trying to have the case reopened because they do not agree with the conclusion their 22-year-old son John died by suicide.
John fell to his death from the roof of a high-rise in 2001 and the police investigation concluded that had taken his own life.
However, the family says John was not suicidal, adding that the evidence police allowed them to see following his death convinced them he had been murdered.
The $12.5 million lawsuit alleges Toronto police destroyed, hid, replaced and ignored evidence from the scene.
John and Gloria spoke to Mark Sutcliffe on Ottawa Today Wednesday; you can hear that full interview below.
