OTTAWA – Police have charged an Ottawa man with a slew of firearm and drug offences.
Around 12:15 p.m. on August 5, patrol officers responded to a call for a suspicious person call in the 3100 block of Carling Avenue, and during the investigation, found a man using marihuana in a vehicle.
The man was arrested on scene, and while police searched the immediate area, a handgun was found.
Police seized a handgun, drugs and an unknown amount of cash.
Zakaria Sheek-Hussein, 23, faces charges including possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a firearm without a license, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
