The Ottawa Fire Service was busy Friday overnight into Saturday morning, battling two separate fires.
The first blaze broke out at a high-rise on 200 Rideau St., near the Byward Market.
Firefighters say the flames were confined to one apartment on the 8th floor.
The fire was quickly contained, and nobody was injured.
Ottawa Police have since re-opened Rideau St.
The second blaze occurred at 3:00 a.m. at a three-storey double in Sandy Hill, which is leaving 12 people displaced.
All residents were evacuated and no injures have been reported.
Firefighters were called to the top-storey of the building on 181 Henderson Avenue, where they contained the blaze.
What caused the blaze is still under investigation.
