The Stratford Festival’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar is set to close on Broadway in New York, due to poor ticket sales.
The news comes despite the show being nominated for two Tony Awards earlier this month.
Most of the cast originated the roles in Stratford.
The show is set to close on July 1, which is Canada Day north of the border, adding insult to injury.
