Elementary school teachers in the province will wear black arm bands on Monday to honour the victims of the horrific Connecticut shooting.

Even those teachers walking the picket line have been asked to wear arm bands, and observed a moment of silence at 9 a.m.

School officials reminded parents that doors remain locked at Ontario elementary schools to keep out unwanted intruders, adding that lockdown drills have been practiced.
