Friday’s snowstorm may have you wanting to hit the slopes, but one ski hill in the area is out of commission.

Camp Fortune is closed again Saturday due to power outages in the area.

Co-owner and president of Camp Fortune and Mont Ste Marie, Bob Sudermann told 1310News it will be a while before the power returns. Tree branches have fallen on power lines because of the weight of the snow on their branches.

He says this storm is similar to the 1998 ice storm when looking at how many trees are down. He adds all of this snow will lead to a great ski season though.

Sudermann adds that Hydro Quebec has been unable to provide a definite timeline on when power may return to the area.

Mon Ste Marie is offering all Camp Fortune customers a 25 percent discount if they make the trip there.
