OTTAWA, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League kicked off their annual holiday showcase Friday night in Kanata.
It’s the seventh time the event has taken place in partnership with the Ottawa Senators.
The 12 team league will play two games over the course of the weekend and it marks the third year in a row the game has been played at the Bell Sensplex in Kanata.
Tony, House Vice President of Communications with the CCHL says the event is big entertainment for withdrawn hockey fans.
“Obviously with no NHL its a great opportunity for families or hockey fans in general to get out,” Tony said.
“You won’t be disappointed because the level of hockey is off the charts.”
While a good product on the ice is exciting for fans, Tony says it’s also for a good cause.
“We’ve actually aligned with the food bank, and if someone wants to catch a game and wants to bring a non-perishable food item, you’ll get a dollar off your ticket,” Tony said.
“It’s kind of a win-win because we’re all about giving back.”
The event runs through Sunday, and tickets can still be purchased at the Bell Sensplex.
