Man threatens taxi driver with knife

OTTAWA, Ont.  – Ottawa Police are searching for two suspects after a taxi robbery in the downtown core.

On Sunday, January 13th, a man and woman hailed a cab at Bank and Catherine Streets. Soon after entering the cab, the man told the taxi driver he had a knife and refused to pay his fare.

He then stole the female suspects purse and fled the scene. She remained in the car briefly, then left as well.

The man is described as:

  • White
  • 20-25-year-old
  • Approximately 5’11”
  • Thin, brown hair
  • Last seen wearing a black coat and black jeans

The woman is described as:

  • White.
  • Approximately 20-years-old.
  • 5’3″
  • Long hair
