OTTAWA, Ont. – The 35th edition of Winterlude is getting underway and that means roads closures.
The City of Ottawa wants to remind you of road closures, transportation options and schedule changes at the Rink of Dreams during the annual festival.
Festivities at the Rink of Dreams begin with the opening ceremonies Friday at 7 p.m., resulting in Laurier Avenue between Nicholas and Elgin Streets, as well as the Queen Elizabeth Driveway between Laurier Avenue and Somerset Street, being closed on the following days:
Friday, February 1: 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Saturdays, February 2, 9 and 16: 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Sundays, February 3, 10 and 17: 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Free public skating will still be available at the Rink of Dreams for most of Winterlude, with the exception of the following times:
Friday, February 1: Opening ceremonies from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturdays, February 2, 9 and 16: – Skating shows from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Sundays, February 3, 10 and 17: – Skating shows from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
You can also keep your eyes open for the green flag beside the Rink of Dreams to make sure the rink is open for skating.

There are plenty of options for getting to and from Winterlude. The city is encouraging you to leave the car at home and use public transit to get to the festival.
OLG and OC Transpo, in association with the Société de transport de l’Outaouais, will provide a free Sno-Bus shuttle service between locations during the three weekends of Winterlude.
