Jays season underway; 1310News is Ottawa and the Valley's official broadcaster

OTTAWA, Ont. – The Toronto Blue Jays season is now underway!

1310News is Ottawa and the Valley’s official broadcaster of all 162 Blue Jays games. The games will be broadcast live on 1310News, while our regular news format is streamed online.

You’ll be able to listen to every game in its entirety from opening day to — fingers crossed — the World Series.

“It’s a game where you can sit back and listen,” said Toronto Blue Jays President and CEO, Paul Beeston. “It’s got a cadence to it that is particularly favourable to radio.”

He added, “We’d like to think of ourselves as Canada’s team, not just the Toronto Blue Jays.”

The buzz has been building around the Blue Jays for the first time since the back-to-back championships of 1992 and 1993, since General Manager Alex Antholpoulos launched a major re-tooling of the team.

Meantime, the crown jewel of off-season acquisitions, R.A. Dickey has high hopes for this season, as well as next. “I think this can be a special few years,” Dickey said.
