OTTAWA – Compensation is now being offered to Air Transat passengers, who were left sitting inside a plane on the tarmac in Ottawa for an extended period of time.
One of those passengers, Laura Mah, tells 1310 NEWS she has been offered $400.
The flight, which was on its way from Europe on Monday of last week, was re-routed due to weather and left sitting in Ottawa for six hours.
Mah says the only thing passengers were told during the delay was that the plane needed to re-fuel.
She adds that passengers were hot, there was a lack of water and some were even worried about animals being kept in cargo.
The Canadian Transportation Agency is expected to hold an inquiry into the event at the end of this month.
