OTTAWA — A woman in her 50’s is in critical condition following a heart attack at Ottawa City Hall.
Ottawa paramedics were called just before 9:30am Thursday, after City Hall security guards found that a woman had collapsed in the washroom on the 1st floor of the building.
Security used an automatic external difibrilator and continued CPR until emergency crews arrived.
Paramedics administered medications and the woman’s heart re-started.
En route to the hospital, a specific type of heart attack was diagnosed, and the woman was taken to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute to undergo angioplasty.
