Lightning strike sparks west end house fire
OTTAWA – Ottawa Firefighters were busy battling a blaze at a two-storey home in Ottawa’s west end Sunday night.
Crews were called to 275 Black Sage Crescent around 9:10 p.m. after the house was struck by lightning, setting the siding on fire.

Ottawa under winter storm warning
OTTAWA, Ont. – Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for eastern Ontario and west Quebec, including the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
A combination of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain is expected to start overnight Thursday and continue into Friday.

Winter storm leaves Ottawa region blanketed with snow; breaks snowfall record
OTTAWA, Ont. – Another blast of winter weather has blanketed the capital region with thick, wet snow.
The winter storm brought 14.2 centimetres of snow with it, breaking the snowfall record for February 27. The previous record had been 11.2 centimetres, set back in 1967.

Ottawa hit by another winter storm
OTTAWA, Ont. – Another blast of winter weather could cause trouble on the roads Wednesday.
Snow is expected to last through Wednesday into Thursday, dumping 10-15 centimetres.

Special weather statement issued for Ottawa, eastern Ontario
OTTAWA, Ont. – Ottawa and most of southern and eastern Ontario remain under a special weather statement from Environment Canada.
“We’re looking at 10-15 centimetres possible through the day Wednesday,” said 1310 meteorologist Jill Taylor. “Some more flurries on Thursday with another 2-5 centimetres possible.” -
